This weekend it’s something off-topic but hopefully you will find it interesting.
I have always been interested in space and the sky in general, especially the night sky.
Science fiction was part of my growing up years – aliens from outer space was an on-going topic of interest. I had an older brother who found it joyful to scare me to death with tales of the unknown and aliens among us.
Naturally, I became a fan of The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits and especially the X-Files. Yes, I have visited the UFO Museum in Roswell, NM. I can watch some of the SyFy channel stuff but most seems little weird and silly rather than being scary.
My friend and CPA, Gary Ellinger of Adamson, LLC, gave me a heads-up this week about the European Space Agency’s Rosetta comet-chaser. The Rosetta has been sleeping for 3 years and woke up from it’s energy-saving sleep ready to carry out its history-making $1 billion mission. It’s wake-up message was sent from the spacecraft still 5.6 million miles from its comet destination via a pre-programmed tweet that said “Hello, world” in several languages.
It is to rendezvous with the 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet in August.
